Sarvang Dave

I'm a Master's student in Applied Computer Science at Dalhousie University, graduating Spring 2024. I hail from the bustling city of Ahmedabad, India, and I'm passionate about using tech to tackle real-world challenges. At Dal, I've been diving into cloud technologies and web servers, and I'm fascinated by the potential to create super-efficient cloud solutions. When I'm not coding, you'll find me on the tennis court or unwinding with a swim. I have experience in cloud engineering and software development. I've interned at Safe Harbour Research & Technologies where I built a scalable cloud solution on AWS and developed a high-performance Go server. Previously, I worked at Crest Data Systems where I led client migrations for monitoring platforms and automated tasks using Python. I'm also passionate about personal projects, generally relying on AWS and GCP for cloud; Python (especially Django), Go and Typescript (Angular) for coding.

“My experience working with DeepSense and Safe Harbour transformed my perspective on the ocean sector. Before, I naively assumed it was limited to oceanographers or marine biologists. These projects made me realise to the vast potential of data science and technology in ocean conservation and management. It’s an exciting field that offers a unique blend of technical expertise and environmental impact! This realization applies not just to me, but anyone who might think protecting our oceans is limited to traditional roles. There’s a crucial space for data-driven solutions, and that’s incredibly exciting.
